Best frame to build first?

Been a while since I built my first one? Any tips or thoughts?

I played a bunch of this game when it first released on PC and built several frames. My first one was Rhino as it was the easiest and first blueprint that dropped for me. Since I started playing on XB1, I found that it takes alot more time to grind (at least it feels like it does) and I'm not sure which would be the easiest one to farm for. Any thoughts?

I Haven't played for years, but if I remember correctly. I did Hydroid build first, Rhino is super easy to get though.

Yeah, I may just have to start with Rhino again. I've read he's still the easiest one to build.

I went with the more agile frame build. Of course I am more of a stealth player on games like this.

I'm going to put in my best effort to be more active here.

Rhino is a good choice. Yes, he's pretty easy to farm but he's also a viable end-game frame. Don't want to die on a level 100 Sortie? Rhino. Want to mess around on Cetus without having to worry about being overwhelmed by drop ships and ghouls? Rhino. And it just goes on like that.

You can build him to be basically unkillable (Iron Skin, so all the armor mods you have with a little power strength to boot) or you can make him more team friendly with a Shout (team damage boost) or Stomp (suspend everything in mid-air so it can't fight) build.

Just beware; he's not a damage frame. A good early-game damage frame will almost always be Excalibur until you get to Saturn and can farm Ember. She'll carry you through the rest of the star chart until you can get Saryn, Equinox, etc.

But do you want a tank who's also a damage frame?
Good thing you're in GS.

Head over to the DOJO and go to the Tenno Research Lab (small room, first on the left in the research wing) and grab the blueprints for Nezha. His 2 skill is a halo that reduces 95% of damage taken, his 1 skill leaves fire everywhere you run, and his 4 skill is floor skipes that impale and hold enemies. It's really a great frame.

Heya, welcome back to Warframe!

What is your preferred playstyle? There are stealth frames, glass cannons, healer/support, gun focused, melee focused, really whatever you want. There are tons of ways to play. For your early "main" frame, Excalibur is great as DrNiggle suggested, he was my first frame and carried me through a decent bit the star chart before I switched mains. He's a good jack of all trades type frame, decent DPS, decent survivability. Rhino is great if you find yourself a little squishy and you really want to just not die, but you'll be relying on guns. I really liked Valkyr and mained her for a while early on, she's a lot of fun if you're in a mood to be more frenetic and hack and slash enemies to pieces. I'll also second Niggle's mention of Nezha, he was my favorite frame for a long time and is still at the top of my most used frames list even though I don't use him often anymore.

But all that said, your decision now doesn't really matter in the long run. You'll blow through the star chart and the main plotline before you know it. That's when the real game begins. This is when you've finally collected the top tier mods like augments, nightmare, corrupted, set, and primed mods. Now you can actually start pushing these warframes to their real potential for high level content like Sorties, Arbitration, Eidolons, and relic endurance runs. That's when you've got nearly 20 frames to pick from, and each one has a specific purpose. Some get used more than others but you don't really consider any one frame a "main" anymore, just what you're using for the thing you're doing now.

And then there's also the prime frames...

So the point is, don't get too locked into any one warframe for too long. I got through the star chart and main story quest with Excalibur, then Valkyr, and finally Nezha once he was researched in the clan. But while I progressed I was also grinding warframe parts from each planet's boss, and building them and leveling them along the way. This is important for two reasons; it gives you a chance to learn how they work and explore other ways to play, and it builds your MR. As an aside, do the same thing with weapons. Find a few that you like and make them nice and powerful, but don't stop building and leveling weapons.

I got myself hooked on warframe for a bit. I ended up with every prime frame. For a first frame I would recommend Rhino. He has a great ability to up his armor or shield. Makes he stay alive and take more hits without going down. Intern this allows you to play around and get used to the game with out constantly dying. There are other great frames but i think they are for more advanced players. If you on pc hit me up happy to taxi you around a bit or help you complete missions. Word of advise the archwing missions are terrible.
