I want to try a little something here. Let’s see if we can come up with a list of the best games of all time. Not necessarily your favorite (that will be another one).

Could be newer games if you feel like they will have a lasting impact or have / will have influenced other games

Need some suggestions to add to the poll options.

I said somewhere. "Unless it didnt post" I think one of the best games ever made was Assassins Creed 2. It was just so well done. Im also a AC fan boy but. None thes less lol

Super Mario Bros 3. Nothing else comes close to gaming perfection.

Uncharted 2. Best one in the best series of all time.

Pitfall. The granddaddy of adventure games.

Wolfenstein 3D. The granddaddy of the first person shooter.

Pong. Can’t have a list of greatest games of all time without including the one that started it all.

There's a bunch of series that are awesome, that's my top 5.
Not in any specified order.

Hmmmm Best game of all time. I'm gonna go kinda philosophical on this one. As of today, it's Red Dead Redemption 2. I haven't played this game. Haven't even bought it yet, though I will very soon. Rockstar is not my favorite studio, and this may not even crack my list of favorite games.

What I am getting at here is the latest and greatest is the best. Many of us are in our 30's & above. We have seen the entire lifespan of the video game industry. And the advancements just keep on keepin on. Remember playstation grahics? I mean holy shit nothing could have been better right. And then PS2. I remember thinking about how amazing those games looked, and how smooth they played. The transition from the NES to SNES to PS & N64 controllers was a huge leap from system to system.

Now we have games like RDR2, the newest Forza, Spider Man, ect. Nearly every new triple A title is just so beautiful. COD BO4 vs Goldeneye. Who could have ever imagined!

Now of course we still have clunkers here and there, I'm lookin at you Andromeda! But the best game of all time is right around the corner, and it's simply the next best game of all time.

i don't think there is just one best of all time game. maybe a best in each genre. I agree for platformers that Super Mario Bros. 3 is the pinnacle. But sitting here and thinking aobut just the shooter genre and i cant come up with just one game that is the best.

Are all soild shooters that could be ranked right up there. And i didn't even get into Rpg's or MMO, or anything like that

Could never just narrow it down to only one. But for me I’d say;

Tetris
Half life 2
Portal 2
