[General] Games With The Best Stories

It's a good topic, don't you think? With a game is of the role playing fair or the action/adventure thrill ride, they tend require you to settle into the stories weaved by the developers. A strong plot and stellar storytelling of a game can make all the difference between a game that you will play through once, and one you will cherish as an experience with revisiting. What game does the latter for you?

Going first, I was moved by the storytelling of the first The Last of Us. I haven't played the sequel yet, and part of that is because I feel so guarded in regards to how that game made me feel. It stuck with me. It still does.

It's a tie between Ghost of Tsushima and God of War (ps4) for me

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is, in my opinion, one of the greatest stories ever told in video game history.

Knights of the old republic was very good.

Last of us was amazing and the beginning and end of it were.... just wow.

Spec ops the line is an underappreaciated gem.

What remains of Edith Finch is another great story I would recommend.

Tell me why ... another one with a really good story.

Final Fantasy III (VI in Japan) will always be my favorite game and story. The game was my first RPG that I spent hundreds of hours with, completing the story multiple times on the SNES. The Opera house scene with Celes, Kafka breaking the world, Setzer the gambler, those were the days.
