In case you weren't keeping track of what is going on with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nintendo launched an official tournament for North America between January 17th through January 19th, 2020. Yes, that means today is the last day to compete! It isn't a meaningless tournament, either. Nintendo is giving 2,500 gold coins for the top 8 races each day. FYI: 2,500 gold coins equates to $25 in digital store credit.

Here is the official announcement:
Join the Mario Kart North American Online Open tournament and you could win My Nintendo Gold Points!

Get ready to put the pedal to the metal! Owners of the Mario Kart™ 8 Deluxe game from across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico will have a chance to compete in this in-game* event from Jan. 17 – 19.

Players can take part in up to 24 races each day and will be scored based on their in-game ranking in each race. At the end of each day, the top eight individuals with the highest accumulated scores will receive 2,500 My Nintendo Gold Points!

Join the tournament on Jan. 17 – 19 from 12 p.m. PT to 6 p.m. PT by selecting Online Play**, picking Tournaments, and then click on Search by Code. Once there, you can enter the day's tournament code:

1/17/2020: 0799-6132-1003
1/18/2020: 2403-5150-5963
1/19/2020: 1453-2535-4539

Voilà! You’re ready for the starting line!

Scores reset at the end of each day, so, if you don’t win the first day, try again! But please remember, a single player may only claim one prize. If that same player happens to land in the top eight during the remainder of the event, they won’t get another prize. Instead, the next eligible player on the leaderboard will get the prize. This way, everyone has a shot!

We hope you’ll be able to join in. Good luck, everyone!
