Heya fellow Switch owners,

So my left Joycon has had a "drift" to it for the past few months now. I have tried various different methods to try and fix it, but nothing seems to work. So I am now looking at sending it off the Nintendo for repair/replacement. Has anyone else run into this issue at all? Or has anyone else on here dealt with Nintendo repair at all?

My unit it still under warranty until late December, so I hopefully shouldn't run into any issues. Other than not having a left Joycon for portability. Worst case I can just buy a new one. (But what colour!?)

Thanks in advance.

I am having the same problem with my "second player" left joycon. I tried everything and couldn't fix the drift. I bought a replacement joycon, and, a few weeks in, the L1 stopped responding. I need to send that into Nintendo to get repaired.

The drifting is apparently a fairly common problem from what I have seen. Some people seem to have quick fixed it, don;t seem to see many follow ups from those who have gone through the repair route tho.

I hope they can sort out your L button problem. Not heard of that issue before :(

Having failed to find my proof of purchase for my Switch, I phoned up my local EB Games (The Australian division of Gamestop) to see if they could print me off a copy. Apparently as my Switch is still under 12 months old they can just replace my Joycon with a new one. To be honest I never considered attempting to go through these folks as they're customer service has never been that great, I only purchased the console through them as they had a good bundle deal on. So I have to admit, I am pretty impressed and feeling a little sheepish at the same time.

So there may be an option for you McMurphy to have it replaced from your place of purchase? Or perhaps this is one of those times where Australian Consumer Law is actually doing something for me for once!

Update: Got my left blue joycon replaced with a green one today at no charge. Pretty happy. So now I can get the Super Mario Party bundle and rock 2 green joycons!

I shocked my docked console and completley fried my right joycon. I wanted extras anyways for party games so I went to best buy, picked up a pair and bought geek squad protection. Exchanged the bad one and have 2 years if any of em go out I can just exchange

Well that turned out alright for you then!

It's the first time ever I think, that I have had an issue with Nintendo branded hardware. A true testament to their build quality and QC.
