hexagonal & turn based recommendations

Postby NinjaCow » Wed Aug 30, 2017 10:38 am

Hey GS,

Other than Longsword and Shattered Union.

Can anyone recommend a turn-based game with hexagon map structure?
Sorry, I'm a bit, out of touch with the PC turn based genre. But, would like to give it another try.

Thanks,
Ninja Cow

Are you talking about grid type rpgs like Final Fantasy Tactics, Disgaea, Phantom Brave etc. or strategy games like Shadowrun ?

no anime... please

I typed hexagon into Steam's search engine.
Their are a few games that I'd be interested in buying, Would be a bonus
if any Gunslinger's cared to join in Multiplayer. I havn't made any purchases yet,

But if your interested in, trying a steam multiplayer game

Great games but they are of course using squares instead of hexagons. Hard to find a good hexagonal game. Ogre is the most recent but frankly it's not that good...

There are a lot of good tactical games that don't use hex system. Wasteland 2 and Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun both have no grid whatsoever and are very underrated.

For hex combat, I might suggest Expeditions Viking. It has some weird mechanics regarding traveling (you have to set up camp to heal/craft) but it has very good combat. Video below shows the combat system.
