Old consoles

Do you recall all the wasted hours on the games and consoles of the past? Everything from the first Playstation and the Nintendo 64 to the NES and the Dreamcast is fair "game" here.

Please forgive the lame pun.

Old consoles

Most people can remember every console they had growing up whether they bought themselves or were hand-me-downs .Interested in what machines everyone had
Me i'm an older gamer so i remember a few:
Telstar Ranger... hand-me-down
Atari 2100 black and white
Atari 2600 wow colour.. ruined stepfathers tv
ColecoVision actually missed a day of school cause of it
Nintendo NES mario was cool for a while
Sega Saturn
N64
Heres a kicker...Phillips 3D0 one of the first disc drive 16 bit machines. Wing Commander ruled
Sega Genesis
Playstation ,all three
countless Xbox's red circle of death at least 6
Xbox 360 for almost 3 years... was a solid machine , not fireproof though!!
back to PS3

My 3DO was the Goldstar model. Played Gex, Way of the Warrior and Road Rash till my fingers bled.

That is still one of my favorite consoles, along with my Neo Geo AES system, and my Vectrex.

Oh wow, fun thread! hmmm...let's wander down the lists of yesteryear to modernminute

    Atari 2600
    Vectrex
    Nintendo Entertainment System
    Sega Genesis
    Game Boy
    Game Gear
    Nintendo 64
    (console gaming hiatus)
Wii (and popped in a few gamecube discs i had missed thanks to backward compatibility)
    Wii U

I'd like to include PCs in there.. but trying to figure out when each PC floated in would be difficult... so let's just say a PC arrived to me around 1992 and has always had at least some presence since. Especially during my console hiatus.

I've had the opportunity to try nearly every home console since the Sega Genesis arrived thanks to a good friend who's relatives must be millionaires was all I could figure growing up. Of them, I most regret not having the means to buy a SNES nor a Sega Dreamcast. Of the many I missed owning, these were the most fun to me. I should say two consoles I know I've missed even attempting so far are the XB1, PS4 and countless handhelds(basically every handy post Game Gear). Hopefully, I'll get opportunity at these some time soon!

All on my list are still currently in my possession (well, none of the PCs except the most recent two.) Of them, most are in great running order for retro days with friends. Exception: Atari2600 (likely just the AC adapter ...should really head to radioshack for a replacement)

Had a super-sweet Odyssey with a pac-man ripoff game. Loved that thing!

I've had a few consoles, most of the oldest are lost to time, but not all....

I started out with a Coleco version of an Atari 2600, called the Gemini:

Bump N Jump.... best game ever! :D

Later on I got a Turbografx-16, I still have it but its put up in the original box:

Yes I have the CD drive too, it can detach and be used as a CD walkman....

The rest are still hooked up and in working condition:

And of course I can't forget:

I had one as well as well PC-Engine GT (Turbo Express) and man did it drain batteries quickly but it was awesome playing Street Fighter 2 CE on it.

I can pretty much sum up my early gaming time line with the Manga High Score Girl.

I grew up pretty much in Arcade age of the late 80s to early 90s. So anyone else remember querying via lining up quarters to get into playing games like Street Fighter 2?

I do miss out arcade styles of games.

Aw man I think I singlehandedly kept the arcade industry afloat for an extra year :D
There used to be a 5c arcade near Portland, Or. My cousin would always take me to and I'd dump waaaayyy too much into the games.

Arcade cabinet completions/high scores: Tempest, Double Dragon, Xevious, Rygar, Road Blasters (I actually got the T shirt they send for a high score), Star Wars, Ironman Ivan Stewart's Off Road, and that Journey band game

To this day I'm a sucker for a good game of air hockey though
