If I could vote ten times, I'd cast all ten votes for Assassin's Creed II. I can spend hours with just the parkour/free running and never touch a mission. I've been to some of the cities depicted, and I've compared the game to actual photographs, and the architecture is simply the most realistic and lovingly detailed I've ever seen in a game.
And it's gorgeous. Like Oblivion, I just (virtually) walk around with my mouth open saying out loud "Oh my God! Will you look at THAT!" But this amazes me even more because it has to be based with painstaking accuracy on real places. The gameplay feels so real that when I climb to a viewpoint, I get a little vertigo.
