Your Atari Childhood

Do you recall all the wasted hours on the games and consoles of the past? Everything from the first Playstation and the Nintendo 64 to the NES and the Dreamcast is fair "game" here.

Please forgive the lame pun.

My dad had a 2600 but before that had...an Atari XE. What a treat. I remember playing Bug Hunt with a light gun.

There's a game I think was on the XE, that was kind of an isometric adventure type of thing, but I have no idea what it was called and can't find any clues anywhere. :| There were enemies/obstacles in it that looked like Daleks.

Edit: Hmm, I might be thinking of this:

...in which case I don't think it's Atari.

Your DAD had an Atari XE? That thing came out in 1987. By then I was over Atari and hooked on the NES. I'm not THAT old, am I? (I'm 34.)

We weren't exactly rolling in cash. It wasn't until I got a job myself at 18 that I was able to get up to date. When I say my dad had it, I mean he bought one for me and my brother to use when we visited. I'm 29, for the record.

If you're right about the dates then I must be remembering the 2600 and XE in reverse, though I'd swear he had the XE first.

ok first atari which was really expensive. This belonged to Moses first i think.

Atari 2600 1980, used to play for hours in team matches,

It had a fake wood veneer, so i suppose nowadays, it looks like a station wagon
