Hell yeah! I have it preordered as well. I'll send you a friend request on Xbox.

Have you played any previous MH games? I played MH4U on 3DS. Really looking forward to it on the big screen and with a comfy controller.

This will be my first Monster Hunter. I can't play handhelds for very long, hands cramp up to much so I have never been able to pick up this game. With it being on the big screen with controllers, now is the time!
I hear the combat is fairly difficult, people are saying it is like Dark Souls (I hated Dark Souls combat) but fighting big ass monsters looks too like much fun to miss out on!
I am looking forward to trying the Bow, how about everyone else?
Do I need to farm for materials to make arrows?
Can I send my Palico to get materials? Did most MH entries have Cat followers? Are they good at fighting or more of a distraction then anything?

I have a mic (don't talk much though), Central North American timezone GMT-6.

I'm fairly new to the series as well. Weapons were not difficult but take time to master which I found enjoyable. I might start with a relatively easy weapon and then move to a support weapon possibly. Not sure about farming for arrow materials. I think Palicoes can go out and gather materials at a certain point in the game. I didn't find them distracting and they are pretty handy as they level up.

I have never played any Monster Hunter game before, but it looks like something I might enjoy. Definitely keeping my eye on it and might pick it up. I need a new game to play anyway. :D

It is going to be a great game, and a good place to start. I have enjoyed all of the monster hunter series for both Wii/U and PsP/3ds so I am really looking forward to it. Just take some time in the training grounds and get a feel for what weapon you prefer. Marksman and ranged weapons being one of the hardest to start as and short swords, katana easiest. Happy Hunting!

I will probably pick this game up Friday night or Saturday morning. Still a little hesitant since I have never played a game in this series. Not sure I will like it and also not sure how much time I will have to play it, but if I buy a physical copy of it and hate it, I can always take it back for some credit. :D

Maybe a few of us can squad up over the weekend.?

I will be on, hopefully all weekend. Would be cool to get a group going. Is it true that you don't get story cut scenes in Coop?

I'll be on for sure. Here's a snippet from IGN on cutscenes. Seems like you'll have them in co-op.

Because the single and multiplayer quests are one and the same now, I was looking forward to playing through the entire story with friends without having to switch back and forth between co-op and solo play. There is, however, a small obstacle that prevents this from working how I expected.

Assigned Quests (essentially replacing key quests, for those familiar with the series) come with cutscenes now, more elaborate than the Monster Ecology scenes we’re familiar with. These cutscenes, which generally trigger when a monster is found in an Assigned Quest, must be viewed before you can play the Assigned Quest with another person.
