Sometimes, you just want to see who is currently just like you: looking to get active friends on a platform. Starting in 2014, Gunslinger Gaming has added an extra User Groups feature to help you in that venture! Think of it as an interactive "Who's Active" feature! Here is how it works
:1.) Visit your User Control Panel.2.) Select the "Usergroups" tab.3.) Click the Usergroup you wish to find friends in and hit the Submit button.4.) Scroll to the bottom of the Forum Index and click on a group of interest.
From there, you can join more than one group. All you need to do is repeat the steps for every group you wish to be part of. Check out the profiles of the members who have also added themselves to the same groups as you to send out friend invites. Remember, this does not replace the Master Lists
, so, to be acknowledged in a clan front for a particular game and gain friends, remember to add yourself to those first.
So these User Groups remain a valuable source of which people are actively seeking out friends on a certain platform, the groups' membership will be reset every month. Be sure to re-add yourself to the groups if you are still actively looking for general friend invites.UPDATE
: Let's increase the usefulness of this feature. Anyone who adds themselves to "Friends" usergroup, will be sent periodic (probably every week or two weeks
) private messages that list all the games and associated new contacts added to their Master Lists recently. For example, if you add yourself to the "PS3 Friends" usergroup, you will be given a private notification listing all the new contacts added to PS3 orientated Master Lists.
To opt out of the notifications is easy. Remove yourself from the usergroup!
Let me know if you have any question, and I hope this helps!
