Obligatory first blog post, and some Karting experiences!

Hallo there, fellow Gunslingers! Vincent here, trying this Blog feature that the site enabled some time ago... And I just thought of giving it a shot, to see how it goes...

Anyway, how's it going? Just ended this week's Bar League of Mario Kart 8. It was good, alright. I still haven't got the hang of the fire hopping technique, though, so I'm still no match to Shax, the long time winner. But hey, at least I can keep up with him, granted that I get the right items at the right moment, which in most cases, it just doesn't happen... like AT ALL. And in fact, it happens in reverse, like me being in first (or second for that matter) and getting a single COIN almost EVERY TIME! And second (or third) place gets something really (un)expected like (Triple) RED shells or the Crazy 8. Really! Just my luck!

This also happens to me quite often on Worldwide/Regional racing rooms. I've been playing on Regional lately, it's a bit easy for me to find people of my VR level on there instead of Worldwide, and I've made some new friends there, too, so it's not that bad. The DLC tracks are AWESOME! I so love 3DS Neo Bowser City, it's one of my favorites from MK7, along with Piranha Plant Slide (Also available on MK8) Daisy Hills and Rock Rock Mountain. And speaking of DLC tracks, whenever this one is available to choose, virtually EVERYONE on the room selects it. Hopefully you may know which track I'm talking about, right? If not, then here, a pic:

Yep, Ribbon Road, it used to look like this on the game it originally came from:

By the way, Mario Kart Super Circuit was my very first game of that franchise, and it was also my very first GBA game, I got it when I bought the handheld. I played the hell ouf ot it, both single player and multiplayer (single-pak) games, until I lost it. Oh well...

Anyway, now the track looks like this on Mario Kart 8:

Image is a bit too big, so please click on it to see it better.

I don't get it. I know it's a BIG change (really, I DO get it), but GBA Cheese Land also got the extreme makeover, but it's not chosen as much as GBA Ribbon Road. What gives? I just hope someone here can explain to me the MEGA-HYPE people got for this track, because seriously, I don't see it, like AT ALL. Either I'm missing something here or... I don't know...

Well, that's it for now. Again, let's see if this thing works properly for me and (hopefully) I can still go at it, posting random (allowed) stuff, or stuff about me and/or my gaming experiences. Thanks for reading this blog post! See ya soon! :D
