Antici............pation

Permanent Linkby Enemyonwheels on Sat Aug 24, 2013 10:18 pm

I have never been a patient person. If I decide I want something then I want it right away, but with gaming this doesn't happen.

Devs tell us about future games months (sometimes years) in advance. And we have to sit it out and wait for that release date before we can get our hands on that shiny new disc. In recent years things have got a lot worse for those waiting for games due to the proliferation of the internet. Now we get drip fed hype from announcement all the way to release. Then there is TC who collates all the hype and brings it all together in chat. Now the Impending release of the next generation of consoles has compounded the problem further.

I am now at the point where I am set to explode and we are still 3 months away from getting our hands on those new consoles. I'm hoping the release of GTAV in 3 weeks time will provide sufficient distraction.

So how does everyone else deal with living on the hype train?

Have you tried drinking the Kool-Aid? :D

As for me I'm really psyched for Destiny's release, which according to Gamestop is 6/30/14. So until then I'll be playing Defiance on the PS3 (which is the closest thing) and Diablo 3 on the 360

I find I have to focus on the now cause I am so GD excited to have 32 possible stab victims instead of 12 now and it's driving me insane waiting.I want what I want when I want it and I can't have it right now and I am so losing my mind.

I'm not a fan of waiting and this is honestly taking a toll on my patience lol it wouldn't be so bad if I had a release date to aim for but nothing I just know November as its September it means only 2 months away with work and overtime I'm hoping it goes fast I know I shouldn't wish my life away but it's only 2 months then it can slow down again. I just can't wait all that much longer and it's doing my wife's head in me keep talking about it lol

Tell her she's not the only one that is suffering. My Wife probably knows as much about the PS4 as most gamers now.

Maybe Murph should set up a side section to the forum for our long suffering partners to offer support to each other through this tough time.
