I remember when I was a kid, I would get a game, play it till it was done, play it a few dozen more times, and then move on to the next one. Now, as an adult with a job, wife and kids, I buy a game play it for a hour a night for a few days and then something comes up in real life that distracts me away from the game. By the time I can go back to it, I have forgotten everything that happened in game and something shiny and new has come out to replace it. This leads to a pile of partially played games (hell, some of them don't even get started) that have been forgotten faster than it took for me to go to the store to buy them.
