Backlog: a FWP where gamers buy more games than they can play or complete. Caused by the rapid release of games and sales made available.
When I got my Xbox 360 in November 2012, I knew I was very late to the party, but I was very excited to play modern games and especially, Halo 4. The problem looming over my head however: I amassed a big backlog of Wii games since I was simply going to wait a few years until I got another console. The 360 was a surprise; my wife bought me Halo 4 for my b-day hoping it would inspire me to get the console, which I did. I was looking forward to a whole new library of 360 games but I was afraid my backlog would simply grow and I would never finish any game.
My concern is that gaming can be a costly hobby, and when I spend my hard-earned money on a game, I want to be able to play it, not let it sit on a self (or a hard drive) collecting dust. It's just a $50-$60 paperweight and that's a waste in my eyes as I could have spent that money on my family...
