Again by MisterYoda on Sun Mar 02, 2014 4:32 am
I may not be the most active fourm member at times, but I am trying to keep up. So if any new GS wonder why my posts are super late at their times, its because I am in Japan, which is about 12 hours ahead of most of the USA. So if you are in the UK or Europe, I am on during your lunch hours. So do not be afraid of sending me a invite on Wii U or Playstation 4, no Xbox currently.

The reason I hide my xbox is because I have a lot of co workers that I run with at times and they do not wish to be part of any community (I tried). So gaming with them is normal. Even though I hate the Xbone. As for my PC players, I will be playing VERY soon. Within the next 2 weeks, I will have my PC fully built. It is taking longer than I thought with cable management and waiting for parts to come in. So as always, check the names that are listed in the forums for me and add though. If you got questions, ask me or the GS leaders. I haven't been around long, but I know my way around.

Review: Infamous 2nd son by Enemyonwheels on Sun Mar 23, 2014 11:07 am
Time for me to review another game, this time I'm going for a AAA title.

I picked 2nd son up on launch day and have been playing it every moment of free time I've had since then.

Firstly I have to say that anyone who wants to see what the future of next-gen gaming needs to see this game in action. I know I have said in the past that pretty looking visuals are not the key to a good game but this is paradigm shifting. The graphics are smooth and crisp, the vistas are stunning, the motion is fluid and the dynamic lighting effects are like nothing I've seen. But the cream on the visual cake is the depth of detail in the facial expressions on the characters. While they are not quite life like they are far beyond anything I have seen in any game. I did a little digging and saw some of the mo-cap they used. There were more dots tracking the facial movements of the actors than there usually on tracking the whole body in a regular mo-cap session.

Then we move on the sounds. Sucker Punch have...

The Feather Class and the Bumpy Road to 9999vr in MK8 by MikeyFromSantee on Wed Aug 20, 2014 8:38 am
As of last night, I have made it into the 9000vr range. In fact, I currently have 9031vr as of the writing of this first blog of mine. One might feel like I should look at such an event as a momentous occasion. A landmark to celebrate, as it were. But I have no time to celebrate, as my goal is higher, and not as easy as all my friends keep making it out to be.

You see, my goal right now is very simple. Reach 9999vr using only my feather class Mii before the patch releases.

Today marks the 49th day I've had a Wii U and Mario Kart 8 (despite light-hearted jokes being thrown around during GS* Bar League events that I somehow had it at release date, trained hard and didn't tell anyone). I have been working hard day in and day out learning this game from the perspective of the little guy. I had heard before getting the game that the metagame was made up of a bunch of heavies, a few medium weights, and that light class was largely outclassed and not used. Anyone that really knows me...

Past Games... by Jjefferson on Sun Jul 27, 2014 8:09 pm
I wanted to take this time to talk a little about myself. I have been a member of the clan for about one year, maybe 2. I feel that Destiny has brought me closer to the clan then any other games I have played in the past. Which beings to the subject of the Blog... Past Games...

I'm 28 years old at the time I write this. I was a PC gamer at first, playing games like Wolfinstine 3d & Doom. I remember playing so much Wolf3d that my grandfather and I would compete for the high scores. I grow up watching the games change to much. Playing Diablo 1 and 2, StarCraft.. In high school my gaming slowed down.. this was in most part that my parents controlled the internet passwords. Ya.. playing Diablo on dail-up was fun... lol...

After high school I started playing World of Warcraft I was a big fan and my room mate got me into it. We were always competing for the next piece of gear... this took up most of life for some time. I have moved on passed that though playing mostly RPGs. The first Mass...

When soundtracks attack by Enemyonwheels on Fri Sep 20, 2013 10:58 am
Been a while since I blogged so I trawled my memory and came up with a topic that, hopefully, some of you will identify with.

How often has hearing an in game sound or piece of music in real life triggered an inappropriate thought pattern associated with the game.

Here's a couple of examples to illustrate.

I used to play a whole lot of extreme sports games (Tony Hawk pro skater, Dave Mira BMX etc) and knew the soundtracks by heart. Back then I couldn't afford a car so I used to ride a Bicycle to work and listen to a Walkman as I rode. I always remember riding down a huge hill at high speed and then blood brothers by Papa Roach came on. I instantly switched to gaming mode anf just for a second was looking for ramps and rails to trick off.

The second example is a lot more recent but the game was a lot longer ago. A few months ago I was working outside in my current job. Another business near me had some sort of incident that set off their fire alarm. The alarm sounded exactly like the...
